Get A Book For Free, Leave A Review

Butterfly Wings is the first book that I've ever written. Because I need more reviews for it, I have a special today concerning it. If you would like to read Butterfly Wings, but don't have a copy, I can change that for you. I'm giving away five copies of my book to whoever would like to review it. If you're at all interested, just leave a comment here with a way for me to contact you. Or you can send me an e-mail using the contact form in the right sidebar of this blog. If you're on a phone, you can switch it to a browser setting. It'll show up then. Or you can contact me here on Facebook. Either way works. If you don't know how to contact me still, just leave a comment, and I'll get back with you soon about the book.

I have one Amazon review I'd like to share, written by Erin:

"I was gifted this book and it is beautiful. I am going through a hard time and the daily devotions, poems and prayer are so calming and welcome to my heart right now. The author understands what it is like to feel alone in a dark place. This book comes with a daily poem, devotional, reflection section, and prayer. I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs a little love and hope from our God and from someone who has been there."

You can view my book here on Amazon.

If you'd like to leave an Amazon review, too, I'll send you a free copy of my book to read. Just follow the instructions listed above on how to contact me, and I'll get one sent out to you. It's all free. The only thing you have to do is leave an Amazon review (if you need help with this, let me know!) Thank you so much! Book reviews really do help! 💓

Book Review: Leora's Letters

Book: Leora's Letters
Author: Joy Neal Kidney

Book Synopsis:

The day the second atomic bomb was dropped, Clabe and Leora Wilson's postman brought a telegram to their acreage near Perry, Iowa. One son was already in the U.S. Navy before Pearl Harbor had been attacked. Four more sons worked with their father, tenant farmers near Minburn until, one by one, all five sons were serving their country in the military. The oldest son re-enlisted in the Navy. The younger three became U.S. Army Air Force pilots. As the family optimist, Leora wrote hundreds of letters, among all her regular chores, dispensing news and keeping up the morale of the whole family, which included the brothers' two sisters. Her fondest wishes were to have a home of her own and family nearby. Leora's Letters is the compelling true account of a woman whose most tender hopes were disrupted by great losses. Yet she lived out four more decades with hope and resilience.

Book Review:

Joy Neal Kidney contacted me about reading Leora's Letters. I had put out a blog post looking for authors who were interested in me reviewing their book. I'm so glad she contacted me. At first, I didn't know what to expect reading Leora's Letters. I just knew that there had to have been some loss within it somewhere. It's a true story weaved together of letters from family members. This is Joy's family.

The family sent letters between each other during World War II. I don't usually read much about World War II, but this book was engrossing. I had been pulled into their lives. It was hard to read at times, but it was eye-opening to what the soldiers and family members went through. I truly can't imagine what they were feeling during everything. It must have been so challenging for all involved. I'm glad Joy shared this.

Every soldier was brave and courageous that fought. Five of the men in the family joined. Their parents must have been both so proud and worried. Joy did such a wonderful job of compiling all the letters and her family's history into this book. She also wrote a few more, I believe. I have a companion book that I'd like to read and review at a later date. It's called What Leora Never Knew. I'm sure it adds more to this Leora's Letters.

I recommend Leora's Letters to those that like history, World War II, and just an intriguing true story. You can find this book on amazon here. You can also find more info here on Joy's website. I would like to thank Joy for providing me with this copy. It was really good.

Book Review: Grace Spilling Over

Book: Grace Spilling Over
Author: Janet Chester Bly

Book Synopsis:

Are you there, Lord? Are you listening? Ever wonder if God is always good and can ever be really trusted? Many of the folks in these true stories did. Here are people like you. They faced troubles. They got impatient for relief from heartbreaking problems. They often asked, “Why?” But through God’s delays, they eventually found all they needed in Him. Through close encounters in life’s waiting room. Enduring the long loneliness. Yet somehow pampered by His grace. In deep sorrow, God’s father heart presses ours. No easy answers here. No Band-Aids for gaping wounds. No flinching from looking cruelty and evil squarely in the face. Yet hope and generous grace vibrates through these true life stories. These encouraging true anecdotes wrapped with prayer and Bible verses will help you enter His quiet and linger to listen. Illuminating stories of humor and pathos provide steadfast confidence in God’s wisdom and goodness. You will see how God prepares us for what lies ahead. When you truly believe that God is good, even when life is bad, you’ll clear the distortions in your thinking. You’ll experience deep and abiding comfort.

You’ll find spiritual victory.

Book Review:

Grace Spilling Over is my first book by Janet Chester Bly. I picked it up from the bookstore that I work at which is ...And Books, Too! (andbookstooonline.com) I was curious to read one of her books, so I grabbed it. It's a lighter read in that the chapters aren't long. I find this pleasant as it can be read like a devotional. That way, each one can be taken in one at a time. In every chapter, there's true stories with a lesson hidden with them. At the very beginning, there's Bible verses that pertain to the subject matter. At the end, a prayer.

I really like in Grace Spilling Over that there's true stories in this book. It's inspiring to read about what other people have been through in life. We can draw so much from others that have been in difficult times. And I especially enjoyed reading them at night before going to bed. Just so encouraging! I also like how everything ties together with the relevant verses at the beginning and the prayers at the end. It all comes together nicely.

I recommend this book for anyone that could use some encouragement. Reading about what others have faced and then found meaning are truly inspirational. You can find this book online at Amazon or at the bookstore ...And Books, Too! (andbookstooonline.com).

Would you like me to read and review your book? Let me know!
